Follow along as I document real love stories and share a glimpse of how I see the world through the lens of my camera.
This engagement session has to be one of my favorite sessions to date! I met up with Cassie & DJ on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in May and we couldn’t have asked for better weather than this (mid-60 degrees with plenty of sun in Michigan!).
I’m not a huge fan of using props during a photoshoot because it can get a bit cheesy but given the right setting, the props can definitely add some interest to the photos. For this photo shoot, we used a a vintage bike, flowers and floppy hat and it definitely added a touch of fun and romance to the photos.
This photo is probably my favorite picture from the entire gallery! It was just a simple “nose touch” pose but Cassie and DJ made it look so romantic.
I thought the floppy hat looked so good on Cassie! This hat was made for her!
How lovely is Cassie’s dress?! She wore it so beautifully! For engagement session outfits, I recommend going with neutral colors with a mix of patterns and textures. See the engagement session guide that I put together here with some outfit ideas and links to some of my favorite shops.
Did I mention that this vintage blue bike is my very first bike and the only one that I’ve ever owned in my life? Yes – believe it! I love everything about it – from the color to the overall design of it and use it quite often to go bike riding with my kids.
