It’s been a long summer this year and I’ve been needing to get away to fill my creative soul with something beautiful… for the first time ever, I planned an unplanned trip within a week and all the stars aligned perfectly. I chose to go to Charleston, South Carolina for its beautiful pastel architecture (and let me tell you: it did NOT disappoint).

It just so happened that Southern Bride Magazine was hosting an editorial photoshoot the same week at the same EXACT hotel that I was staying at: the Mills House Hotel – a beautiful pink hotel in the center of downtown Charleston (I told you: the stars aligned perfectly!). The editorial team rented The Pink Figgy – a pink vintage car and this alone made my entire trip worthwhile! I also met the owner of The Pink Figgy and she is the sweetest person ever (if you’re ever in the Charleston area, you can rent her car for photoshoots).

I spent a full day doing the editorial photoshoot and the rest of my time exploring the cobblestone streets of Charleston, shopping at the local market, getting pampered at the spa and reading a book by the water. If you’re ever looking to get away and get inspired, Charleston is definitely the place to go! It’s one of my favorite places in the United States to visit so far. This trip filled my creative soul with lots of inspiration and ideas and I have a feeling I’ll be back there again in the future!
