I met up with Courtney and Matt last weekend at Frances Park in Lansing and shot their engagement session.  This is one of my favorite spots of all time as I grew up visiting this park every year to celebrate our new years.  Definitely tons of great memories as I strolled through the garden looking for the perfect light.

Courtney and Matt had flown in from Floridia the day before to visit their family for the July 4th holliday so we snuck in an engagement session while they were in town.  They live in Florida but will be having their wedding in Michigan next June and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding at the Holly Vault.

Courtney had gotten her trial makeup done that same morning so the timing worked out perfectly (DreamBox brides – I definitely recommend doing this: get your trial makeup and hair done the day of your engagement session!)

The weather was in the high 80’s the day of the shoot (even at 10 AM in the morning) but you wouldn’t be able to tell from looking at these pictures because Matt and Courtney made it look so cool (they’re used to hot weather).  I mean, there was not a single drip of sweat on their faces!  I, on the hand, was pretty much drenched in sweat all over.

One of my favorite spots at the park is this overlook area as you’re able to get a beautiful view of the water from here…. it’s oh-so-romantic.
