Wedding season in Michigan has officially started and my first wedding of the year starts with Margaret and Shawn.  Their wedding took place at the couple’s best man’s 40 acre property in Paw Paw, Michigan.  The property was secluded and it featured lush green grass, a large pond and a charming house where the bride and groom got ready in.  The pond served as a beautiful backdrop to the ceremony and they built an arch that couldn’t have turn out any better!

The colors for the wedding was a dusty blue which I thought was quite fitting for the spring/summer season.  It was also refreshing to see a different color other than the typical blush and pink (which I still love) but the dusty blue along with the white wedding dress looked great together.

I had such a great time getting to know both Margaret and Shawn as well as the bridal party.  Margaret was very organized and had this calm persona that really helped the day go smoothly.  The rest of the bridal party had a good sense of humor and definitely knew how to have a good time.  It was sunny, hot, and humid (above 80 degrees) the day of the wedding but you woudn’t be able to tell that from the photos below because everyone had such a good time!

Margaret and Shawn also had a two-year-old son who I vote was the cutest boy at the wedding.  He was not camera-shy at all which made it easier for me to take pictures of him.

One wedding down and 16 more to go!  This wedding was such a great start to my year that I’m quite excited to photograph the rest of this year’s weddings!
