Happy new year! I hope you all had a great holiday break. 2021 was a busy wedding season with over 20 weddings for my team and I’m just now catching up with posting images on my blog. I had the honor of meeting Rachelle and Austin this past December to photograph their engagement session. Rachelle and Austin opted for a city style engagement session and what better place than downtown Detroit to do so with the mix of old and new architecture! I used to work in downtown Detroit many years ago and it was really nice to go back and revisit the area.

It was a FREEZING morning but Rachelle and Austin was such great sports and were willing to go out in the cold. We met up at the Detroit Institute of Arts and did a few formal shots at the building stairwells and then headed towards Campus Martius to do more casual/candid shots.

It felt refreshing to be back in the city and photograph against the city buildings.
