Follow along as I document real love stories and share a glimpse of how I see the world through the lens of my camera.
Ashely and Caleb initially planned to have their wedding in Grand Rapids, Michigan but due to COVID, they decided to do a destination wedding in the Smoky Mountains with their closest friends and family. When Ashley notified me and asked if I’d be willing to travel down to Tennessee to photograph their wedding, I was quite ecstatic! I had never been there and it was definitely on my list to visit.
Their wedding took place at Blue Mountain Mist, an intimate bed and breakfast inn situated in the perfect location with a clear view of the mountains. Given the busy tourist season at the national park, we started the day off early so that we could get to the top of the mountains before the crowd took over.
Here’s a picture of the inn (can you see why it’s called Blue Mountain Mist? The mountains definitely appeared to be blue with the morning mist).
Ashely and Caleb’s first look (their family and friends were peeking from the house and I’m sure several of them also had the same expression that Caleb did :)).
We headed up for the mountains bright and early and fortunately got to some of the best views with zero crowd! This was definitely one of my favorite spots with the sun just starting rise:
Since we hit all of the hot spots in such a short amount of time, we decided to go to the very top of national park and it did not disappoint! It was very mystic:

The bridesmaids’ mauve dresses were so beautiful and really popped against the backdrop:

I had such a great time in the Smoky Mountain. Ashely and Caleb treated me like family and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to work with. I even ended up dancing with the ladies on the dance floor and it was so much fun!
