A word from the bride: “Sandra is fantastic! She is a gifted artist who produced stunning photographs in every setting we put her in. Her detail shots are gorgeous. She made an older church look beautiful. Her suggestion to walk instead of drive from our first location to the reception made for one of the most memorable moments (and beautiful pictures) of the entire day…it was such a fun, snowy day! Sandra and her second shooter were whirlwinds, capturing images of everyone during the reception, but never getting in anyone’s way. The biggest worry now is how to decide which image is album-worthy! As a professional, Sandra has a wonderful work ethic. She is prompt, organized, professional, kind, and patient. I never wasted time waiting for her to reply, and as a result our other vendors thought I was easy to work with. She endured a lot between being out in the cold and me telling her what pictures to take (sorry, Sandra!), but she was always sweet and smiling. I appreciated her willingness to offer guidance and suggestions, which always led to successful outcomes. If I was only allowed to repeat one decision from the wedding planning process, it would absolutely be to work with Dreambox Photography again. Sandra has been a joy to work with, from start to finish.”
Michigan ballroom wedding | Wedding photographers in Grand Rapids, Michigan
Maria and Killian’s wedding was my first wedding of the year and it took place at CityFlatsHotel, a hidden gem in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan. CityFlatsHotel is a unique wedding venue in Michigan with its beautiful architecture inside and outside of the building (just look at the arches!). The ballroom is simply breathtaking and it has a mezzanine that overlooks the entire ballroom. I met up with the girls in the morning to photograph the dress and bridal details.
We then headed to the church where the wedding ceremony took place.
Killian serves in the military and it played a big part of the wedding details:

Winters in Michigan can be quite harsh but Maria and her bridesmaids were prepared with the the custom cloak that they wore over their gowns!

This is probably one of my favorite photos of Maria and Killian dancing:
