Michigan Wedding Photographer

Now that wedding season is over, I finally have some time to create! I’ve had certain visions in my head for some time now and found the perfect location to turn my visions into reality. I had photographed a wedding earlier this year at The Lit in Grand Rapids, Michigan and it had the most beautiful white room I’ve ever seen. From the large Tiffany windows to the ornate decor, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop for this photo shoot as I was inspired by the 17th and 18th century baroque style paintings and wanted to recreate it with a modern twist.

For this styled shoot, I had envisioned an all-white space with a bride wearing a long ruffled wedding dress with long sleeves. I also wanted a dramatic head piece to complete the dress so I DIY’d it with some dried foliage that I found outdoors.

This is probably my favorite photo from the entire photoshoot. I love the different textures and the softness of the light coming from the window. This was exactly what I had envisioned in my head.

My second favorite photo is probably the one below… I wanted to feature the dress as it draped so beautifully so two days before the photo shoot, I went and found a very high bar stool and painted it white.

For hair and makeup, the team at Simply Stunning Bridal did a fabulous job. I explained to them that I wanted porcelain skin with lot of blush and natural makeup with a messy updo and they executed it so beautifully! If you’re looking for a team of talented hair stylist and makeup artist for your wedding day, I would definitely recommend them!
