A word from the bride: Sandra did our engagement photos in Chicago just a few weeks ago. The weather was iffy and I was a little nervous but she made my fiance and I feel so comfortable. It started raining during the shoot but the pictures still turned out AMAZING! We could not be happier with them and she got them back to us so quickly!! I can hardly choose one for our save the dates! We are so excited for Sandra to shoot our wedding in June. Thanks so much Sandra!

It’s been a really busy summer and as wedding season comes to an end, I’m trying my best to catch up on blogging my past weddings and engagement sessions. I only have 3 weddings left to photograph this year so hopefully I have more time to blog and post up pictures.

I’ve always wanted to do a session in Chicago and when Katie and Christian asked if I would be willing to travel to Chicago, I automatically said yes!! I took my two eldest with me and turned it into a girls trip. We took the train from Michigan City to Chicago (our first time riding on the train) and it was such a fun trip! We visited the Shedd Aquarium where we got to see the dolphin do their amazing tricks. We also visited the Adler Planetarium and learned quite a bit about the outer space. We stayed at the Palmer House (which I 100% recommend) and I even let the girls stay up late so we could go visit the bean at nighttime.

I met up with Katie and Christian at the III Forks restaurant (the same place where they had dinner before Christian proposed to Katie). I got to know them a bit (how they met and how the proposal happened) and did a round of drinks before heading out.

There was a park outside of the restaurant where they led me to the exact spot where Christian proposed to Katie.

We then headed to the Adler Planetarium where we got the best view of the Chicago skyline. It started to rain but the sun was still out so we quickly got a few shots in!
