DreamBox Photography is featured on the Wedding Chicks!

I’m so EXCITED to announce that DreamBox Photography is being featured on Wedding Chicks (one of the most influential wedding blogs with over 1.8 million Facebook followers and almost 800,000 Instagram followers)!  See our full feature here!

Back in December (during a business trip back from Washington D.C.), I had written down some big goals for 2018 and one of them was to get my work featured. I wanted to create an over-the-top glamorous styled wedding and the first thing that came to my mind was Marie Antoinette.  I had visited the Palace of Versailles in France back in 2011 and was in awe by how breathtakingly beautiful the queen’s palace was.  I had also watched the Marie Antoinette movie produced by Sophia Coppola and was inspired by the queen’s elaborate fashion and glamorous lifestyle.  For this photo shoot, I wanted to feature a beautiful bride with her bridesmaids having tea, a masquerade reception, and elegant bridal details.

I started planning this photo shoot over the Christmas holiday and was able to get a team of talented vendors (or #ladybosses) together.  I then searched for the perfect venue and when I saw pictures of the Pantlind Ballroom at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, Michigan, I knew it was the perfect venue for this photo shoot.

The photo shoot came together beautifully and I couldn’t have asked for a better team of vendors and models to work with!  Each one of them helped my vision come to life with their talent and contribution.  We created a unique photo shoot by opting for a blush wedding dress rather than the typical white dress and then having the bridesmaids wear white and ivory which you don’t see too often. Also, we created a chandelier cake with hanging crystals (think: upside down cake) to go with the overall theme.  The hairstyles were avant-garde, of course and our table setting had mismatched plates.  My hope is to inspire brides to try different ways of bringing together elegant details on their wedding day.

I put my heart and soul into this shoot and I hope you will enjoy the photos as much as I did capturing it!

Pantlind Ballroom, Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, Grand Rapids, Michigan.  This is a European style ballroom and definitely has the feel of an old-world elegance.   The dome ceiling is covered in 24 carat gold and all three sides of the room is covered with these beautiful arched mirrored walls.  As soon as I walked into the ballroom, I felt like I was in a whole new era!

A Marie Antoinette photo shoot would not be complete without French macarons, tea and pretty bridal details.

For the cake, Audreanna from Pretty Delicious Designs came up with the idea of a chandelier cake.  She designed it beautifully and came with her husband the day of the photo shoot to help us set up.

Yes – I still believe in writing love letters (especially on your wedding day)…

Kayla from Kayla Taylor Creative Designs & Custom Prints did such a great job designing the invitation suite and name cards.  I sent her my color palette and told her I wanted something romantic and elegant – she was able to create this beautiful invitation suite for me within a week and it exceeded my expectations!

The talented Ashley Ferguson of Ashley Ferguson Hair did a fabulous job with the girls’ hair by making them big and bold.  To balance the boldness of the hair, Kristy of Knockout Beauty by KB created a soft and romantic look with the makeup.

Nicole from nikscandi carefully chose each piece of jewelry for the models to complement their dresses.  Go check out her boutique – she has some beautiful unique pieces in her shop!

As soon as I saw this blush wedding dress at Memories Bridal & Evening Wear, I knew it was THE dress for this photo shoot.  It has beaded details on the top portion with a flowy bottom.  I wanted to do something different with the bride wearing a blush colored dress while the bridesmaid wore ivory.

When Niki from Simplicity Floral Designs & Events and I first met over the phone, I knew right away I had the perfect florist.  She saw my vision and executed it beautifully.  She designed this entire tablescape and it came together beautifully.

For the tablescape, we wanted mismatched dishes to create a unique setting and Kirsty from Delicate Dish was able to provide us with what we were looking for.  She also provided the beautiful pink and clear glassware, tea cups and flatware to complete our table.
