Follow along as I document real love stories and share a glimpse of how I see the world through the lens of my camera.
This is an overdue post but it’s better late than never! Last year I had the opportunity to participate in a styled shoot held at the Belle Isle Boat House in Detroit, Michigan. This is a grand 117 year old boat house that was historically exclusive to the rich and famous residence of Michigan. Over the years, the boat house was neglected due to lack of funds and the building deteriorated. The boat house is currently going under renovations to restore it back into an events space.
The boat house is located on Belle Isle which is an island by the city of Detroit. I can’t believe that I never visited the island during the ten years that I lived in metro-Detroit. It was very quiet on the island and there were quite a few parks by the water.
A view of Detroit’s skyscrapers in the background:
Inside the boathouse, the walls were all white with grand details:
The balcony overlooking the ballroom:
One of my all-time favorite bouquets… roses are definitely my favorite flowers.
How beautiful is this tablescape?
The bigger the bouquet, the better!
