Elegant backyard wedding in Michigan

I have a feeling 2021 weddings is going to have a BIG come-back with more people and more partying, especially after a year of weddings getting postponed (several times) and COVID restrictions getting lifted. Kara and Sean’s wedding was definitely proof of it – everyone was ready to just party and have some fun and they did exactly that! It was really nice to get back to some level of normalcy and see family and friends get back together.

Kara and Sean chose to do their first look and wedding pictures at Frederik Meijer Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan and I couldn’t think of a better wedding venue! We were surrounded with lush greenery and pretty blooms everywhere – definitely the perfect location for a wedding photoshoot!

Here’s a few pictures of Kara right before Sean turned around to see Kara for the first time:

Kara looked stunning in her wedding dress. Her veil was passed down from her mother and it completed the look so beautifully. This shot of Kara was taken in the Japanese Gardens of Frederik Meijer Gardens and the background in this picture reminds me of a monet painting.

After the pictures, we headed to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Conklin for their wedding ceremony:

After the ceremony, we headed to Kara’s parents house where the wedding reception was held under a large tent. I love how the tent was decorated with the hanging lights all around!

Kara and Sean hired a live band for their wedding and they were so great! They kept the guests entertained and dancing all night.
