Follow along as I document real love stories and share a glimpse of how I see the world through the lens of my camera.

A word from the bride: “My husband and I chose Sandra for our wedding on September 14 in Charlevoix, MI. Although Sandra was not technically in our area, once we saw her work we knew we had to have her for our wedding. Between our venue and her whimsical photography, everything was perfect!! Not only did we have our sneak peak photos within 24 hours, but we had the entire gallery with hundreds of pictures in under a week! She made sure to get all of our “must have” pictures and more, no matter how wacky or strange they might’ve been. Sandra was so amazing to work with throughout the entire process, and especially on the day-of, and I couldn’t recommend her more. Extra kudos to her for dealing with my wild bridal party!”

If you want a unique wedding venue in Michigan, there’s no better place than Castle Farm in Charlevoix, Michigan. Castle Farm is the perfect place for a fairy tale wedding with a real castle and you’re able to do everything in one place including getting ready, ceremony and reception, not to mention that it is only a few minutes from Lake Michigan – which is great because all your guests can do some site seeing and exploring before or after the wedding. If you chose northern Michigan as a destination wedding, I would 100% recommend looking into Castle Farm. Unlike Traverse City (which is quite crowded), Charlevoix is a more low-key.

I had the honor of photographing Rachel and Josh’s wedding at Castle Farm and it was such and amazing experience. I absolutely loved the venue and the chance to document their wedding day.

We were able to take photos anywhere on the grounds at the venue and took advantage of it by renting a golf cart to get us around faster. The front of the venue featured this beautiful water fountain with the castle in the background. The back of the castle had a large pond as well so we had quite a few options for photos. The weather was just PERFECT for a September wedding!

The bridesmaids all wore blush dresses (which is one of my favorite colors). Wedding tip: wearing blush makes your skin look tanner!

The guys all wore navy suits. Blush and navy is such a beautiful combination!

Josh and Rachel’s ceremony took place in front of this mini castle and it couldn’t have been more perfect!

Since we were pressed for time earlier in the day, we snuck out during the reception to get some more shots behind the castle. This is one of my favorite shots from the wedding not only because the castle is in the background but also of the reflection in the pond.
